Immerse yourself in traditional craftsmanship at Saboterie Haeberlé
Push open the door to a real, working clog-making workshop!
At Luttenbach-près-Munster, Pauline welcomes you to her family's clog-making workshop, where she breathes new life into a rare and precious craft handed down through several generations. During this guided tour, discover all the steps involved in creating a pair of clogs: from choosing the wood to shaping it on century-old machines, right through to the handmade finishing touches. You'll see, hear and feel the material being transformed before your very eyes. Pauline will passionately share with you the history of clog making in Alsace and the anecdotes of this unique workshop, a living witness to a disappearing craft heritage.
And to extend the experience, discover her world of artisanal boissellerie. Here, Pauline creates objects in solid wood from local forests: kitchen boards in natural shapes, serving trays, wall-mounted bottle openers, engraved hearts, Christmas ornaments and seasonal decorations. Each piece is shaped by hand, with the same taste for work well done. Some can be engraved and personalized, to offer a unique gift, or bring back an authentic souvenir of your visit.

Tips and recommendations:
Beware: machines in operation are noisy. If you are sensitive to noise, bring hearing protection. Wood chips may fly into the workshop during the demonstration. This is not fine dust, as the wood is worked wet: the sawdust is heavy and non-irritating.
The workshop is located along the main road, easily spotted thanks to the logs piled up in front. The entrance by car is at the beginning of the logs: you can drive up to the top to park in front of the workshop. Roadside parking is prohibited: please follow the signs
Please note:
The journey to the clog mill is by private vehicle. Remember to respect the winter equipment requirements in force between November 1 and March 31.
